The Gap Project is a direct access day service for the homeless and vulnerably housed. The main support services are for those aged 16-25, however those aged above 25 are able to use the practical services providing the project rules are respected.

Practical services are breakfast and full cooked lunch daily, showers, laundry, tea and coffee, newspapers, a safe environment and access to supportive, friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Those aged 16-25 can access comprehensive support, guidance and referral for resettlement and substance misuse issues.

There is a fully equipped I.T. suite linked to the Oxford Homeless College with full staff member support.

The city central CMHT provide a mental health drop-in every Tuesday for all age groups.

A Connexions worker is available every Friday for advice and guidance for those aged 16-19 and CFBT provide an adult education worker once a week.

Various programs of activities are run throughout the year including quiz’s, kayaking, ice-skating, access to D.J. equipment, summer BBQ’s, Egyptian dancing, relaxation, football and outdoor recreation. Suggestions for new activities are always welcome.

There are daily art activities run by a specialist art worker and much of this work has been publicly displayed.

A needle exchange and advice service is available in conjunction with the SWOP scheme.

Alcohol and illegal substances are not permitted on the project as is use of mobile phones. Those under the influence of alcohol and/or illegal substances are advised not to present as they are likely to be turned away.
